One of the ways is to ask your friend about that. She must be the one who knows best about what the Voip does to small business. In case you are still at dead end, you can find out answers for your question on Internet. There are a lot of names for you to choose from.

  • I have my cable modem and wireless router downstairs. My room however is upstairs. I don't want to run cables through my walls. I have a wireless router upstairs. Can I use it to use VOIP? If not, any suggestion? Thanks a lot.

You need to use a wireless bridge, it will connect to your wireless network and you plug a network cable into it. If your router has an "access point" mode, that will work too. Hope this helps.

  • I haven't got much of an idea what I'm looking at, I need to buy a new phone for the house but I've seen some which are compatible with VOIP but are expensive, is it worth the extra money. Any advice on the whole system would be great. I currently have a --- RoadRunnter --- line and service and Dishnet TV with broadband package. Most phone usage will be evenings and weekend.

A VoIP phone would need to be programmed with whatever SIP provider's service that you want to use... it would also connect to a port on your router, not to a traditional telephone jack... roadrunner is a cable provider, so basicllay with out getting too technical about it - there telephone service is a form of VoIP- but the modem/phone adapter converts the digital signal to analog, so that you can use a standard telephone... I would recommend just getting a normal DECT phone, or go one better, and get a phone that has bluetooth and can sync with your cell - this way when you are home, you can keep your cell on the charger, and answer your cell phone thru your home phone... if you decide in the future to get VoIP phone service, you can just get an ATA to convert the VoIP signal to a standard analog telephone signal...
